What is a One Stop Centre?
Sakhi centres support women affected by violence, in private or public spaces. Each centre provides temporary shelter up to 5 days, medical assistance, police facilitation, legal aid and psychological counselling, all in one place.
Every district in India is meant to have at least one centre, usually inside or near the district hospital.
How to reach one
Call 181 and ask to be connected to your district One Stop Centre. Police stations, hospitals and Childline can also refer you. You can walk in directly. No documents are required to receive help.
Who can use it?
Any woman, of any age, including girls under 18 accompanied by Childline. Services are free.
